I know a lot of us (maybe most?) are waiting for a 2.1 sense rom. But, in the absense of that, are there things we can do now that we couldn't last week?

Could someone more experienced please send people like me some ideas and/or guidance?

    Thanks in advance.

i was wondering what the point of rooting the device now was... i can see the potential in the future with roms and other customizations but now what can you really do with a rooted droid.

You can install SU if you'd like so you can run programs that require root access in the market.

I did a search for SU on this site and it turned up no results. Does it stand for something? Can someone help?

Also, items in the std Android Market can require root access, or are those type of programs only availble from other sites?

    Thanks
