    I was about to say....

But as for the kernel issue, I have decided to go with ChevyNo1's 1.2GHz LV Gingerbread kernel. I was able to give it a quick test with my home WiFi. It connects, and data works perfectly. Now of course, the rest of the system needs to be tested before I merge it into source completely. Im uploading the new test zip with the WiFi fix in it. Im having my doubts about switching to ADW Launcher, or even a modded Launcher2. I had Nemus Launcher in the last, 11.x, releases. If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know.

    Booted no problem this time.
Can you do add ad blocking, ads are very annoying and since Google took ad blocking .apk-s off Play Store.
I vote anything other than ADW.
Seems auto-rotate doesn't work always in landscape when opening apps.

Maybe go back to Nemus Launcher for the time being. Never had any issues with it, and it was pretty smooth. And thats BEFORE all my recent optimizations!

As for ad blocking, yes, I can add that in. Of course, it will be the simple addition of my custom hosts file, but should do the trick for the most part. Its not perfect, and wont catch ALL of them, but more than enough to make it worth the time.

I tried to get Nemus to work, installed it but when I selected it as default Home UI it boot looped into a forceclose/report prompt, I think I still have a .apk of one of the ad blocking software somewhere.
Some of the apps I use would not start in this ROM -- Clock widget, Weather Bug for example.
I have a Droid Concepts build 13, CM and Pete Alfonso ROMs I saved in CWM, the DC ROM is FR76K and the Pete one is 2.3.7, it is large and I get out of space with it rather easily, the DC ROM works great it has the 928Droid theme.
Of course I have enough stock ROMs to flash back to FR76K stock.

Was Clock Widget a third party app, or one from the stock ROM? I will test WeatherBug as well. Thanks for the reports. Anybody else having issues with certain apps, even third party apps?

    Yeah, third party clock.
I flashed back to DC ROM, will have to reflash 12 pre13, could not get out of error loop that Nemus caused.

Adaway is my preference, but I'm not using an OG. Most of the ad blocking programs moved to F-Droid, which also has it's own client to notify you of updates.

True. And while an app can work, most also have a background service that runs and intercepts ads as they come in, so they take system resources. With a hosts file, theres not additional background process, only the overhead to scan through the file to see if the ads host is listed or not, which is only done when needed. A lot of people said they didnt want ad blocking built in, or that it was absolutely necessary to have a separate piece of software to do it, neither of which makes any sense. I will include my regular hosts file (~2.3MB or so). Ads will just be clobbered, simple as that.

I looked at your gerrit, didn't see anything but the kernel fix. Yeah the other ROMs I have have the host file blocking and work rather well, I found the AdAway .apk I DLed on my other phone if I need it.

I turned off the netbook my gerrit is running on for a day. Give it some rest. I will boot it back up shortly. Also be sure to take a look at the MERGED section, to see what has been pushed to the final source. Unlike most other gerrits, I dont leave much in my OPEN section for very long. As soon as they are tested, they get pushed in. Today and tomorrow dont look great for a lot of additions to the ROM, but after that I have about a week until the Arnold Fitness Expo comes to town, and Im working setting up that show, and then the Auto Show right after that. So my time will be limited with the exception of next week.

    Google Calendar

Other than the WIFI issue, 12pre13 looks and works great so far. The biggest issue I have is an all black Google calendar and only able read in agenda view. Is this an issue with pre16?

I am using pre16 and the wifi would still drop, disabling/re-enabling worked, but I saw 1linuxfreek's post (#1855 page 186) about using the other kernel and that seems to have fixed the wifi issue. Thank you so much for reviving this ROM! My kid now has a great device to use and can stay off my Tf201 and my HTC One.
