so what's the recommended install for the original droid? what's the difference between the two choices? stability is 100% for me.

I used clockwork, wiping caches and factory reset. Then installed the themed version ..

Perhaps you can assist please. I have been trying to install this ROM on a D2 for quite some time to no avail. Status 7 - Installation aborted
Thought perhaps that it might have been a bad download so I retried 3 different times but have been unsuccessful. I have, as always, triple wiped data/cache/dalvik and have even gone to the extent of formatting the system, data and cache. All with no luck. I have .sbf'd back to 1FF-p2a_droid2_cdma_droid2-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DR4-51-120117-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf - Confirmed root, re-downloaded Droid2.zip from the Steel Droid thread here on Droid Forums and still same result. Any assistance or advise would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Can I use D1 as just clock with docking? Can somebody share how you do it in this case? For example: airplane mode - on, wifi on, Alarm Clock Plus app. Etc...

    Thanks

Seems like the wrong thread to me. Should be in general discussion or something. The OG deserves much more than just being used as a timepiece. Probably just airplane mode on ;)

True, best in the general area, but yes, airplane mode on, WiFi off, BT off, and so on. Anything that has to do with a data connection can be shut off. But its true, I think the D1 has much more potential than just being a clock. Pretty expensive clock. Lol

I turn airplane mode on then enable Wi-Fi ... basically just to have the weather on the dock updated and I also have groove IP, it enables the use Google voice numbers for internet calling ... (just in case it's needed)
If your just using the clock then airplane only... your battery while last a week or two.. :)

Personally having the OG DROID as a desk clock only is a compliment, as all my previous phones are hidden away in a box!

Hey Chevy.... is there anyway for you to do a sweet barebones/ updated version for the D2G? My job requires me to have a reliable and stable phone to never miss a page/ call-out. I've only found that your ROMs are the most reliable. Please and thanks!
