It looks like NVIDIA is having some issues with their shiny new Shield Pro Android TV console. From the talk in the NVIDIA forums, the only recalled device is the Pro version of the device, which includes the 500 GB HDD. About 1% of owners of this specific version of the console are affected. The main issues include the system failing to upgrade to firmware 1.4, and some corruption in the Android TV interface.

Luckily, NVIDIA is taking care of their customers who experience any of these issues. You simply need to contact their tech support and they can arrange to get you a replacement for your defective console. Here's a link to NVIDIA's support thread to get the process going if you need to: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-note-for-shield-pro-users-updated-9-8-15-/1/

NVIDIA did a bang-up job on the Shield Tablet recall. They seem to take these issues seriously.
