Nougat report card

Nougat has officially been out for about 3 weeks. It's time to grade this build.

Overall I give this build a C+. I like the multi window but it's long overdue and still needs a little work. I feel like it's smoother though there are videos showing the performance falling behind marshmallow. Battery life is lacking and some are having Wi-Fi issues. It's not as bad as ice cream sandwich on the Galaxy Nexus which is why I can't give it a D or a F.

Google we need you to step it up on 7.01 (or 7.1) please.

Not having a Nexus (lost in the house fire), I can't contribute, but I'm finding what you're posting as informative.

I can't add anything or argue with your assessment, PC. The OTA is finally rolling out to non-beta testers & the battery issue seems to definitely still be there from preliminary reports I've seen.

My battery life has definitely taken a dive. Checking my battery stats shows that it's definitely not dozing as "hard" as it did before, if it's actually dozing at all.

I have reason to believe it is dozing some, because sometimes I'll pick it up after a considerable time of not using it & I'll suddenly get notifications for apps that I assume are affected by doze, like Facebook, which has timestamps of when the comment/etc was made.

I'm at around 50% after a workday now, not using my phone much at all at work. Previously, it was only that low if I was slacking off & playing a game for a while. Haha

Nougat along with it brings new features which include split-screen multi-window, improved notifications and long battery life with improved Doze feature with which you can save your battery usage.
