Notification LED not working?

I'm not sure when this started, but I recently noticed the the notification LED no longer lights when I get email or other communication. Is it possible to turn it off in the settings. Could I have done that by mistake? I'd like to get it back. Of course if it's a real problem my I expect my warrantee is up. I got it Nov28 2010.

My X did the same thing a while back. Get the Light Flow app and problem solved. Better than stock actually.

Thanks for the suggestion. Installed lite flow, no go. I tied safe mode, no go. Went to Verizon, they had no answer other than the led is dead because the phone has been dropped. (it does have scars) However, the led died recently, the drop was months ago. I'm 1 month out of warranty. Isn't that how it is? Almost 10 years with V. They really give me a bad feeling now. I think the end of this contract is the last.
