notification help with handcent

Hi, I have handcent and recently changed some settings without realizing it and I just need help switching them back. Before, when I would receive a text, the notification would stay in the bar until I read the message. Now, It only stays in there for a couple of minutes and then disappears and most of the time I don't realize I have a new message bc I dont feel it the first time it vibrates. Can anyone help me change the setting back so that the notification will stay there and whenever I look at my phone it will be there until I read it.

That is very odd... I don't use Handcent now but did for a long time, and I don't ever remember any setting that made it disappear?

i need help... how do i make it so there isnt a pop up that says the message. i dont want to see the message until i go into my messages and click on it..
