I use nova launcher with Tesla coil notification badges which sometimes have the wrong message count. I noticed in Google messanger it had nothing unread but chomp said I did. I uninstalled and disabled all messanger apps except Google messanger but the motivation badge for sms always says one. Anybody else run into this?

Tesla only supports certain apps for the badge count. I would check to see which apps are compatible and/or contact the developer to see if they plan to support your favorite app.

Also, there's no "a" in messenger. ;)

Then you might want to change your personal dictionary, because you must've trained it to spell the word wrong at some point. If I try to spell it your way, mine corrects to Messenger.

There must be a way to edit the custom dictionary without a rename of the file I hope

On the Turbo, it's right where you mentioned @JonnyKansas. Settings > Language and Input > Personal Dictionary > Long press the word you want > Options then appear to edit or delete
