I have a customer who got an S5 yesterday and since installing the update to 5.0 it is failing to send text messages. Exchanged for different phone and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

Is this the stock Verizon text messaging app? I had this trouble at work due to the way WiFi is secured. Since the vzw text app needs a data connection to work apparently it couldn't connect through my works WiFi. I switched to Googles messenger app and works fine. Maybe a similar issue?

Yep, Verizon messages, hangouts, stock. They're sending her a warranty replacement, so we'll see what happens

Have level 2 check their "national access" to make sure it isn't disabled on the "system" end.
It solved my texting problem with Verizon on more than 1 occasion, both pre and post smartphone ownership.

He checked to see if the IMEI was on a list of known issues and it wasn't.

Well her warranty replacement worked for a few days...until the screen decided to crap out and not turn back on. Sent the replacement back and she came in this evening to exchange for a g3. Just for kicks I decided to look for the new 5.0.1 update and sure enough, it came through. And what do you know, it fixed the problem too! She still returned the s5 and went g3 instead, but I'm glad to know the new update is really fixing stuff.
