Not saving phone numbers in contact entries

I was adding a new contact to my DX today and when I looked back at the entry a few hours later, it had saved the person's name but not their number. I then looked back at the second most recent addition to my contacts list and it had the same issue. I tried adding a new contact plus a phone number just as a test and, as is always the way with these things, it worked fine that time. Anyone else experienced this? Any ideas of what might be going on or what I might have done wrong those two times? It's not an issue of failing to hit "save" or anything, because the new entry was created both times, but only part of it was actually stored. Luckily I can get these numbers back quite easily but I don't want this happening with something more important.
