Is anyone else not receiving their text messaging notifications in the the PE 5.0? I checked all my settings, but I only get a notification every once in a while.

That's a problem with our Droids and Gingerbread. Gb kills tasks very aggressively. In CM there is an option to always keep the messaging app in memory. Does PE not have that? I haven't flashed yet to see.

Also, are you using the default messaging app? It seems to be the most reliable.

    Same problem.

I realized this when all of my friends started yelling at me for not replying. So handcent is allowing messages to go through but the stock messaging application isn't?

I wasnt at first but started to have some issues with missed texts. The update for 5.0.2 does allow for locking apps in memory like CM does so I locked my stock messaging app and gmail. As far as I can tell after having them locked for two full days I am no longer having any issues.

So I take it that the task killer can't be turned off?

I believe it's the last one under Elite Options/Performance. You can lock up to three apps.

Not unless the devs discover a way to do it.

I just mentioned this in another thread but 4.2 is having missed call/text issues as well. My wife had same problem on metickmod. Thinking there may be more to it than just gingerbread. Locking apps in memory did me no good which is why I reverted and still missing calls and still having texting issues.
