Not finding blouetooth devices

I have only had this thing for 8 hours and find it a love/hate relationship.

Moved up from a HTC Ozone so pretty much anything is faster except getting the TB to find my bluetooth headset. Or the car. They both must be invisible.

I have tried when both are turned on, when one is off and turn it on hoping the change will trigger a finding. I need my Plantronics headset to find the phone soon --- any ideas?

Go here:

Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth Settings

Scan for devices. When they're found, they should be listed right below this button.
