When you flash a rom what happens to your apps? and how do you get them back on your new rom
Depending on how you are flashing a new ROM, you will have an option to also add google apps (gapps). If you are downloading the zip file of the rom, check with that developer to see if the gapps are included or if there is a separate .zip file for the gapps. If you are using ROM Manager, you will be prompted to check the box next to gapps. Then once you have flashed the rom and gapps, your phone will reboot and you will sign back into google and all your paid apps will pull over.
If you have lots of apps now you should use a backup app like Titanium or MyBackup Pro. Then you can back up all your apps and settings then once you flash the new rom and gapps you can go and restore your apps and settings.
thxs alot ill get Titanium i also have another ? when am i deleting when i wipe/cache or w/e it is
What is Cache - How to Clear or Delete Cache
so its a lie on your phone when u do a wipe data/cache your not deleting apps, pics and anything of value
wiping cache for example is like lets say you have the alarm clock app, and you have 5 alarms set up
if you wipe cache the app is intact like it has never been turned on but the alarm clocks dissapear
thxs all for the great help but i have a few more questions...is there a list somewhere on which roms work for my stock 2.2 droid or can i use them all im using rom manager and i click dl roms and say i click on cyangen mod i have alot of options which to choose
with stock 2.2 you can only use themes
however you can change your rom to run 2.2 but just with a custom rom, such as SS, lithium mod, liquid frozen yogurt, bugless, list goes on
rom manager makes it very VERY easy to download and install roms on your phone
And remember that each droid is different and it may not like all roms or kernels. You will have to do a little experimentation to find the right rom for you.
