Is there a way to have a black status bar without rooting ur phone. Maybe something that changes the layout without changing original files. Or a theme that does it as a mask of the original. Just a question I have been wondering is possible.

there are home replacement apps that will hide it but none that can change the color. its the framework of the phone; kinda hard to change..

it voids ur warranty but you can flash a file that removes any trace of it if u do have to go back to VZW..
