All of the sudden tonight i've lost service.

    Network says: searching for service

    Mobile network type: unknown

    Service state: out of service

    Mobile network state: disconnected

I'm running succulent desire v7.0, never had a problem before.

Any ideas what could be wrong or how i can fix this?

well you can try dialing *228 and see if that works. If not you may have to do a factory reset.

It's possible your cell tower went down. But signal would come back when the tower went back up.

and yes, thanks for the help. definitely a problem i haven't run into before. i appreciate the quick response

(edit) i guess i spoke too soon, everything worked right after activation but now i'm back to no signal, although when activated it said may take up to fifteen minutes so i hope thats whats going on

dang, give it some time see if the signal comes back. It could very well be your tower causing the issue. If it keeps happening through the night I would try a factory reset, if it still happens after that you may have an issue with the phone itself.

does a factory reset mean i'll lose root and be like its fresh out of the box or something different?

(edit) signal is back inside the house again so i guess i'll quit worrying about it for now and see how it behaves in the morning.

but thanks again for the help

you won't lose root but you will be back to barebones SD 7.0. You have to re-sync your apps and set up your home screens again and all that good stuff. If you are getting a signal outside but not inside that may not be the answer though. I am trying to search to see if anyone has had a similar problem. We can also see if a moderator will move this to rescue squad so it gets a little more attention.

How were you able to get outside of the mobile service unavailable to activate the phone?
