    Hey Everyone,

Looking for a bit of help here. I been rooting my droids since the start. I'm glad these forums have been around to help me when I needed. I been a bit of a lurker and havent had the need to post anything until now.

I recently was sent a 3rd replacement droid after my screen freaked out and became "possesed". I was able to root fine using the sbf_flash method on my Mac.

But it seems as if NO rom runs smoothly on this "new" droid. I have tried BB,SS,PE,Droid Concepts,Steel Droid. nothing.

Does anyone have any input on what I should do? Am i doing something wrong? I never had this problem with my other OG Droid, SS used to be snappy and smooth.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Try Ultimate droid and see what is going on. Try 2.5 froyo and the GB 3.2.5

I tried SS and it was fine. I assumed you wiped everything when flashing.

yea i wiped at least 3 times, each time. I've tried UD and Froyo, same symptoms. Laggy and force closes. And it seems my camera freezes with every rom.

In addition to wiping try clearing you dalvik cache and format system partition. I would give Sourcery a run, its the best Froyo Rom i tried. If you do, install version 2.0 first then 2.2
and of course don't forget gapps..

Ultimate droid or raidzero are your bets.

    I'll try them out again.
Does anyone know why this Droid isnt being as friendly as my last one? Do refurbished ones have different hardware?

I don't think that the hardware should be any different. Sometimes a rom will run smoothly on one droid and not on another. Happened to me. Cyanogen ran perfect on my first droid and not so much on my second. Your phone might just be pissy. Lol.

Give Liquid's roms a shot....I ran lfy(froyo) with no problem and currently am running LGB1.52 (gingerbread) with no problems.

Liquid is good as well. I prefer raidzero though just for the speed and stability. Raidzero recovery is the best out there for the og droid. As well as his over clock kernels. It is only froyo. Ultimate Droid 3.0 was the most stable ginger bread rom out there in my opinion. Too bad you can't get liberty for the og droid.

@mike....i believe some kernels could cause lag depending on how they were built. Raid zero's lv 7 slot 250 to 1.1 ghz was the smoothest running kernel I found for the og droid. There was a new raid zero rom that came out about s month ago. Final FROYO was the name. You can get it on the forums here.

I actually just went back to a stock but rooted 2.2.2 Froyo setup with Chevy's 800 mhz kernel and have had zero issues. It's actually refreshing to be back to stock pretty much.

I did that for an hour I installed the newest stock rom (not bugless beast) from peteralfonso.com and the put dark edge on for a theme I then missed all my features I had added in sourcery rom and had to go back but did keep a back up of my dark edge stock rom just in case only cause dark edge is such a sweet theme

Mike, honestley you should really back up your SD card then format it FAT32.
Your having issues with every rom you flash, then something has to be wrong on the SD card. Maybe you have OC scripts that are conflicting. Just format your SD card. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah a bad sd card could mess up roms. My friends d2 could not get rid of gummy jar. It was like having phone herpes. Just kept coming back. He got a new sd card and the problem went away.
