Hi,

I have a rooted Droid and I'm trying to make a Nandroid backup before installing Cyanogen mod.

When I reboot the phone into recovery, there is no backup option. When I boot holding down the x key, the "Android system recovery <3e>" menu (blue text) lists...

reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe broadband data

How do I get the backup option cited in many threads to show up?

Thanks,
Vaughn

Did you root using superoneclick?

You need to install a custom recovery. Either install Rom Manager from the market and install clockworkmod recovery or sprecovery in the alternate recovery area in RM.

Sent from my GimpDroid.

Thanks for responding.

Yes. I then installed ROM Manager and have flashed Clockwork Mod (got the message that I had successfully flashed clockwork mod).

Guidot,

Flashing sprecovery fixed it. Thanks! I'll resume trying to install cyanogenmod now.
