Threads belong in corresponding forums... you don't get to pick where you think it fits, that's why they are LABELED.

    Try this...

To get the Marked app back, without doing a hard reset.

Install a file manager like.Estrongs or Astro
To make it less complicated load the Estrongs from here: http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/download/temp/1284764910_EStrongs_File_Explorer_1.4.5.apk
transfer it with e.g. bluetooth or USB to your phone and install.

    After installing the FIle manager.

    1. Go to internal memory root
    2. navigate to /system/app
    3. Locate Vending.apk
    4. push on it to install it

It may force close the first time you run it but the second time it should work

If you still encounter Force Close or download issues. Do the following ( you might want to do it anyway as it is sometimes better to start with a clean slate)

    1. Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
    2. Chose All
    3. Find Market
    4. Push on it and select Clear data

Now it should work as advertised

    thank you.

Thak you, I will try this now.

edit: parse error: There is a problem parsing the package.
move it to the SD card and see if that helps. This is driving me crazy I am so angry I feel like i'm going to pop.
I feel like I just wasted a whole bunch of money for a screen and a couple crappy samsung apps.

    Thanks for your help.

    Vending.apk

    Thanks a lot.

I actually found an alternate vending.apk here
    ( 4shared.com - free file sharing and storage - download )
I emailed it to myself and launched it. It said "would you like to install "Market" with the icon and everything I was so excited then it bombed out and said "Application not installed" tried renaming my current vending.app but it wont let me assuming you have to be root. Is there root for the Tab yet?

    /sigh

    Check your PMs...

btw, have you tried doing a factory reset?

and yes ROOT has been attained for the Galaxy Tab, at least on the pre-released version some had gotten their hands on.

    Settings/Privacy/Factory Reset?

Yea, that was the first thing I did. Is there another reset?

I assume there will be quite a few people with this problem as these were selling out quick as they could put them on the shelves where I bought mine.

strange thing is this seems to have all the official google apps
Maps, latitude, google search, Gmail etc. And some really sad excuse for an app store called "Slide.Me" market, no joke it's really web1.o looks like an Opera Mini page opened up on my old N95.

This thing is worthless without the Market.

I'm considering this what do you guys think??

    *2767*3855#

Don’t try this one unless you’re sure. This code is used for factory format, and will remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It will also reinstall the firmware.

PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone, and even then, you run the risk of bricking your phone.
