What rom are you using, and did you apply any theme? I've only had issues when I tried to apply a theme that wasn't made for my rom...

Well, how did you root? DroidMod? Root helper? Or did you follow instructions by yourself?

On your homescreen, press menu>settings>About phone (@ the bottom)>Scroll all the way down to Build Number. I can't say that I know that ALL devs do this, but I'm on Bugless Beast 0.6, and that's what mine says.

Idk about RootHelper, but DroidMod will install the DroidMod rom if you're not sure what you're doing...

I've got a funeral to go to in about 45 minutes and not sure how long I'll be gone, but I'll be glad to try to offer more help when I return if no one else has taken over!

I'll keep up with you until I gotta leave though.

The info I'm asking for will help ANYONE who offers you help!

How did you get to 2.1? What file did you download and install and what directions did you follow?

Agreed. Of you have 2.1 firmware, you have a rom installed...

What did you use to root?

Well...I would kinda suggest installing a new ROM, but that will involve wiping your phone clean first. Contacts will be stored via your gmail.com account as long as you have them synced, and there are several programs including ASTRO file manager that will allow you to backup and reinstall any unpaid apps (paid apps are kept on record as well).

If you're interested, let me know and we'll go from there.
