I unrooted and reflashed my Thunderbolt back to stock following the guide on these forums, and since then I have been unable to get a 3G or 4G or even 1X signal. It seems data is completely turned off on my device. I have used the #*#* number and also ##778# as posted on these forums. I still can make calls and send and receive texts just fine. I have never had a problem like this reguarding Verizon activation and I think it might have something to do with the 4G Sim card. Is their a number to dial or something to get that re-enabled?

Did you dial 228? Someone wrote somewhere it messes up your sim card.

It won't mess up your sim. Dial it and it clears never tries to or connect.

Incorrect *228 will indeed wipe sim card and it will need to be replaced.

Funny we've had to replace plenty of sims due to people trying to update towers. It wipes the sim...

Are you 100% sure that does it...we cannt make the connection...Maybe it is something else and it's getting blamed on that....If it cannot connect it can't hurt it

Do hard reset. Power and volume down key. Reset and leave along for 20 min. If no 3g your sim is fried

We've been doing this all day at corporate

Replacing sims... that is... due to this simple human error.

The thunderbolt automatically dials *22899 to send for activation when initially powered on so do not dial or try to use it after it resets . Let sit for about 15 mib then unlock and try setting you. If no go. Get new sim

Try removing the battery then the sim card. Reboooting it, if it doesn't work right away do that process again. This same thing happened to me and that what I did and I've had 4g for like 4 or 5 days non stop
