    hey folks!

i was on the search for a pretty non-stock calendar, which has a nice widget providing 100% transperacy. One good App for this is

    CalWidget

Available via the market and free!

Looks like a calendar app I would use if I really had a lot going on. I am interested in meeting you Germans at the Pub though. Is that happy hour?

Been using it for 3 months and it is great.
To change transparency, under options go to color and at the top you should see transparency of background, I keep my at 100%

Yea this is a great app and have been using it since the Droid came out. What I really like about it is that it's similar to the Today Plus screen that I used on my old blackberry. Now if I could just find a similar no frills gmail widget as well. All the ones I've seen are just to bulky.

Why does your app drawer look like the one in 1.5?

You have to tap the calendar widget (assuming the default action for tap is to open the menu), select the tools icon, then go to colors and adjust the slider for transparency.

i don't like the fact that i have to install it as a widget on my desktop
on my droid. There are no icons on my desktop - just wallpaper of
    video game girl heroes.

I don't like icons on my desktop - but still is a nice app.

Thanks for the heads up. This might replace quick calendar on one of my screens. I like that you can make it transparent

I was using that app until recently. Switched to pure cal because of the gtask integration.

Otherwise, a very nice widget w/ lots of custom options.

I use CalWidget, and love it. It's the best calender widget out there.

Aw Tigger, your thread title got me excited because I thought you'd found a good free calendar app to replace the stock one, as opposed to just a widget. I already use CalWidget and really like it, but it still just links back to the stock calendar, which I hate. Oh well. Thanks for the tip anyway :)

+1. I use Pure Calenda Agenda Widget. As mentioned, it integrates with gtasks which means the widget shows *both* your calendar appointments and google tasks. The customization options are second to none.
