Who needs Verizon to roll out the 2.1 update for the Droid when you can have the Nexus One 2.1 updated version here today?

This is a pretty solid working build, i haven't had many issues with it so far.

    Known issues:
Nexus Live Wallpaper loads a white screen - will work on it.

    Fixed:
removed Maps.apk from /system/app , should be able to download from market and it works fine.
Fixed facebook app not syncing contacts.

Otherwise it's a great build, all the 2.1 apps seems smoother and more responsive.

Also attached is a Launcher2 that was made for the Nexus, it has the 3g app drawer combined with the Desire style homescreen with working phone and browser buttons.
Landscape mode is kinda broken, but hey it was made for the Nexus, not the droid.

This is a sprecovery backup, so extract and flash per usual.

    Nexus One Update-1

Launcher2 with working 3d app draw and homescreen buttons

Can't say either way atm, just got this running stable last night , next step is to get the market and google apps in, kinda sucks without gmail and market for sure.

Is this any better than our ese53? Or rather than our custom roms like BB or SS?

ere27 is the next software version from google, this is what's currently running on the nexus one.

ese53 is a leaked version from motorola, this is what's supposed to be released to the droid, but has been delayed yet again.

This version here is a combination of both.
It has the software improvements from google combined with the hardware improvements ( drivers, radio, etc.) from motorola.

Wasn't familiar with the manup themes name, but I checked it out.
I will be working on bringing the buuf version to this build.

All the 2.1 apps seem better with multitouch and 3d rendering.

Launcher2, maps, browser...all appear much smooth and faster scrolling and redrawing the images.

Launcher 2 is really nice, still doesn't autorotate for me, but it does work in landscape when you open the keyboard, and while in either dock.

Also has a maps livewallpaper, which basically shows your location on the map on your home screen, neat but i doubt anyone will use it daily.

It's not an app, it's the radio drivers for the phone that were included in ese53 to improve call quality.

I'll repost the link later on alldroid, since their attachment size is big enough to handle the update.zip.

Would have rather kept it here, but I can't manage 1 gig a day bandwidth out of pocket sorry.

    This is sweet.
Lets say Im currently running BB.9, if I just used the update.zip, would it remove this rom, or where exactly would it put me?
    Thanks

ya it puts you basically at the same point as flashing an .sbf file.

Which is you have the stock nexus one build, that needs to be rooted and such.
Or you can hang on for a few hours and i'll post a nandroid backup so u can just restore to it when I get home later.

It'll be rooted with sprecovery and everything preinstalled, i've got it pretty stable atm just can't upload from work.

.sbf actually. it's the raw format used by the rsdlite program from motorola, only time you should really need to use this is to unbrick your phone cause something went horribly wrong.

Sorry about the delay guys had some technical issues last night and now a driver conflict here at work this morning (sigh). Will get the nandroid up as soon as I can.

So using this nandroid is the equivalent to flashing an .sbf? Or no?

Will I still have my root? superuser?
Can I still load buglessbeast on my phone, etc?

    Im kind of confused
    Thanks

Nope, the nandroid is a complete setup now.

I added root, superuser app, sprecovery, and busybox.
Has 1 ghz kernel at stock voltage, and wifi tether capability.

Using ESE53 apps is kinda mixed results, if you really wanna try i had the best results using adb install.

    Code:
    adb install -r appname
from within the sdk/tools folder to overwrite existing app, but keep data intact.

So this will keep my current framework, themes and such?

Can I install my own kernel?

I want to give this a try! But I might need a little help

No this will give you a stock appearance with my kernel.

I have had koush and chevy's kernels on here, so any ese53 compatible kernel should work.

I can't say on a metamorph theme cause I haven't tried, but manually pushing apps with adb should work.
