I've been running at a consistent 47 degrees and the phone will randomly shut off. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem I might bring it back to best buy as I got the insurance and just get a new one

That's a warranty issue. Return it.

Sounds like a dud unit. How'd you check the temp?

Only time mine got warm was while it was charging and I was using it

Temp monitor, just a simple check... Switching from an og droid I know what hot is for a phone hahah got so hot even on a quick skype call and when multitasking with maps the screen fluttered and just shut down. You guys notice it wasn't as snappy as anticipated?

Man my Thunderbolt right now is at a chilling 117 fahrenheit. Am I missing something here or is it normal? It does this during heavy usage when the data connection sucks.

My Nexus got a bit warm when I had it charging and was using it to download a lot of stuff. But, I assume charging + downloading = a lot of heat, so I didn't think it was an issue, what do you guys think?

Mine got warm on the first phone call. My ear got warm on a short call. Did the update after that and will monitor on future calls

It's normal for it to get warm while charging and using it. Now if it's get hot to the touch that's a concern.

It was by no means too hot to touch, but it was quite warm! No issues though while its not on the charger barely gets warm... but I haven't played games or done anything to taxing on the hardware yet!

47 degrees?! My computer runs at that when gaming, and it's a 6 core. I definitely good choice to get a new one.
Edit: really hoping that 47 degrees was farenheight and not celcius.
from the future using my Galaxy Nexus!

47 degrees Fahrenheit is cool... computer temps are measured in Celsius, not Fahrenheit. I would expect it to be 47 C, not F.

What?? How could an electronic possibly run at 47 degrees Fahrenheit?? It would have to have refrigerant or something. Room temperature is typically 72 F.

Anyway, 47 degrees Celsius isn't too bad, when it gets over 55, that's pretty hot.
