It looks like Google is possibly getting closer to a fully functional build of Android 5.1. Today the LG Nexus 5 was spotted running Android 5.1 on GeekBench. The single core performance score was 971 and the multi-core performance was 3638. Those scores are slightly higher than scores by LG Nexus 5's running Android 5.0.2. Still no word from Google on when we might see this new version of Android. I would bet we will probably see it at Google I/O. That event takes place on May 28-29. Then again I guess it could be released quietly within the next several weeks.
