Next software update??

Hi everyone, i have my droid 4 on 4.1.2 jellybean and have been wondering if the droid 4 will be upgraded to 4.2? has anyone heard anything from motorola about 4.2 for the droid 4?

I doubt it. This phone has had two major OS upgrades already. The best we can hope for from here on are security patches, such as for this: Vulnerability Allows Maliciously-Modified Android Apps to Appear Verified

Though I wouldn't hold my breath for another software update, if it were going to happen, it will probably be a bump to 4.3. 4.2 was relatively minor, 4.3 is more minor still, but it would make more sense for Moto to bump from 4.1 to 4.3, than from 4.1 to 4.2. 4.3 is likely to be the last JellyBean, so at least they would be shipping the most up to date JellyBean as their last firmware update. That also is in line with the 2.3.x devices that Moto has updated; even if they didn't go to ICS or JB, they generally updated them to 2.3.5 or 2.3.7, and all built with the latest patches. (As a result, they all work quite well, even though they didn't get the 4.x bump.)
