Well here's a is quote pulled off OD Android central for 2.1 and the update

""The Android 2.1 upgrade for the Droid by Motorola was deployed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users as scheduled. It is expected the broader phased rollout to all Droid by Motorola users will take place, but not just yet. No date scheduled yet.""

Looks like the delay may be more than a bandwidth issue to me . Go ahead and vent. Tell us your thoughts on yet another 2.1 delay for the Droid!

So, just how many installs would constitute patent infringement against Apple:icon_ devil:

Haven't cared about it for 2 months or since I rooted. Now I'm rolling with BD 7.8. Oc 800. Better than the lame 2.1 update scheduled to never come out.

Dont really care about the official 2.1 anymore.

    A) My phone has been running 2.1 for the past two weeks with everything I want on it.

    B) Getting a Nexus One when it comes to Verizon soon.

(YAWN) We've waited this long, what's a few more hours / days / weeks / months? Not a thing we can do about it.

Well, to be fair, Verizon never announced it.

Somebody leaked internal docs showing release date.

True. I just hope that we aren't stuck waiting more months of this thing to finally come out.

For the sake of the non-rooters, I hope it comes out soon as well.

Alright guys, I can't hold in this information any longer....
The real reason for the delay is because of the Droids flux capacitor. The device is the core component of the time machine, which was supposed to be the secret of the 2.1 update. The flux capacitor requires 1.21 gigawatts of electricty to operate, and Motorola is having a hard time with this. Sorry to bring the bad news to the forum.

I am officially going to the bar.....happy hour!

OK, I give up. I quit. I don't care anymore. Someone just point me in the right direction to a Root, ROM, or whatever (maybe a comparison thread?) so I can get 5 screens and overclocking. PLEASE!

    Verizon is :icon_evil:

I still don't understand why other phones have 2.1 and moto droid doesn't. Is this release different than than those phones that came with it preinstalled? Or are they considered beta testers?

The only update I've not seen Verizon drag out has been 2.0.1.

Blackberry owners can sympathize with Droid owners, but at the same time, we aint seen nothing yet when it comes to the waiting game.

Ask a BB user on Verizon.

Oh Amen on that statement. Really you don't know what it's like to wait on an official update until you've been a Blackberry user, and I would say particularly the Storm.
