    Hello,
I am a rank newby concerning smartphones. I just got a Droid X2 and need some information concerning what I have, and what to do with it.
Any information (or where I can find information) about rooting. What it is, and why should I do it?
What do I have, Froyo, GB, or what?
It is : DroidX2, Android version 2.2.2, Baseband version n_03.13.23s, Build number 4.4.1_274_DTN-14.8, ERI version 5, PRL version 52341, System version 1.2.148.MB870.Verizon.en.US

If you could point me to some basic information, I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Cliffw42

2.2.2 is Froyo... Google is your best friend here.

You may want to start following some of the popular tech blogs like Android Central and DroidLife to get a feel for things. It's not that a forum is a bad thing, but things may be just a bit over your head to start with.
