Newbie & totally green!

I'm not a 'techie' per se, but I do have tons of questions about the droid/android system (are they different? - see how green I am?)
I have an HTC Incredible, I've had it for less than a year. I love it. My daughter has the LG Optimus S. The reason I'm out here today is because she has tons of memory/space issues on her phone. I've not had a single issue with mine and I download at least one new app every day. (I'm taking advantage of the daily free paid app at the Amazon App Store).
I'm not interested in doing anything that will void the warranty on either phone, i.e., rooting? Whatever that is.
Well, that's about it for now. Looking forward to not being green anymore!

welcome to the forum. is it the internal memory? if so, can she try to move some of the apps to the sd card to free up some memory? she may also wanna wipe cache too

She said she doesn't have an SD card, but there is a slot for one, so that's what I'm thinking we'll do. Her provider is Sprint, should we just go to the Sprint store or can I get one someplace cheaper?
