Do I need to be rooted to change a theme?

Is a theme the same as a live wallpaper?

Is a live wallpaper the only sort of wallpaper that can be animated?

Where/how do I get all of the above?

Yes you do have to be rooted to install a theme... but you can only install a theme that is compatible with the ROM you are running.

A theme changes the look of the phone. Live wallpaper is just that... wallpaper that's animated, if that's what you want to call it.

All of the above??? Rooted and themed is what you are asking?

I'll wait for 2.2 to come out, give people a few weeks to fix the flaws, and then find some way to make a COMPLETE backup. I don't want to take any chances at all. The $70 that I spent on the phone originally is too much money for me at the moment.
