Hey guys,

Just joined because I'm wanting to find out how the droid X will work.

Specifically if your using it as a wi-fi hotspot, can you still make/receive phone calls?

Yes I know but heck why not ask and ya'll can point me in the right direction right?

Oh, I recently just moved to TN and have been shopping around and have been interested in the Droid X (especially the R2 version).

I'm a tech geek by nature and am also in the might 501st. I also ride a R6 Hi-Rev and hopefully one day will be able to attend and do a track day, but until then its MotoGP videos from BBC Sports.

First off welcome to the forums. Second, yes you will still receive calls while using wifi and wifi tethering. Third, the "R2" is on the Droid 2, not the Droid X. Don't want you disappointed when you go to get one and it ain't there. Almost forgot, you can make calls to.

Sometimes I get the 2 and my friend's X mixed up. He can't stop talking about his "X".

I know I'll be heading here when I need help/tips!
