Hey I just saw on a news site that an update just came out for the D2G. Does anyone happen to have the update.zip from this update? My phone has a REALLY old baseband and kernel and I can't figure out another way to get them updated.

Alternatively, does anyone have another other update files for this phone? Update.zip, sbf, whatever else? Thanks.

I believe OTA update.zip's get placed in the /cache partition (and then get deleted after you actually install the update). If you haven't installed it yet, please use either Root Explorer or adb to grab that! Oh, and it will probably be called something other than "update.zip," but you should be able to tell by the timestamp which one it is. Thanks a lot!

I have the file, I think. The time stamp is appropriate, and so is the size. How would I upload it?

Is there a way to update the phone without being on Verizon's network? I am currently using the D2G unlocked in Canada over Rogers's network. Please let me know.

The only way to update will be when someone posts the update.zip.

Whenever someone gets the update notification and downloads the update, PLEASE copy it over to your SD card before you actually update your phone. It will be deleted after you update. Thanks.

i have the message telling me my update is ready install now or later. I went looking in my cache and have a couple of files that came in dec. 18th: Blur_Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US.zip size 26989603 and a .crc file same name size 10. I have a droid x if they'll work for droid 2 I will upload them for you guys, i'm sure they should.

Thanks for looking out for the rest of us. Just out of curiosity, do all the droids (1/2/X/global) share the same blur skin?

Thanks a lot for the offer, but I don't think it'll work. From what I understand, Droid X ROMs tend to work with the Droid 2, but not the Droid 2 Global.

Droid 1 is pure android - no blur. 2, X and Global use similar blur skin.

Well the question was answered. I knew the droid 2 was but wasn't sure about the global. and your welcome, offer is still open file is large (25.7mb) so I cant upload here as an attachment, so I have uploaded to my dropbox. View the "update 2.3.340.verizon.en.us" http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17160644/Blur_Version.2.3.15.MB810.Verizon.en.US.zip Make sure it is placed in the cache folder of the phones main, and all apps are unfrozen, build.prop is back to stock. It does stop root, however with z4 root 1.3 just hit permanent root and no problems.

Be careful trying this. I am not thinking this will work, and with no SBF you will be potentially bricked until a SBF is leaked.

the verizon article says it's update 2.4.330..., so what version/phone platform is this you've posted ?

i don't think it's a good idea to post an update file for the DX in a D2G subforum thread
