New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

    Hooray beer. Just got my first invoice under the new pricing plus my $20 back-dated credit. My plan went from $98/mo to $84/mo. Thaks DF!

    On 16 Jan, VZW altered their upgrade policy. NE2 has been phased out for new/upgrading customers after 16 Jan. This is to accommodate the special promotions they intend to promote from now on. At 20 months on a 2-year contract, you are eligible to upgrade.

    Two lines get unlimited data and text and share 140 min for $140. Each additional line is $20 (10 for the line and 10 for data.

    If you split the plan (2 lines and 2 lines) the total cost for both would be $280 with a combined 2800 min. My opinion, if you can easily split 1400 min among 4 people, that would be much cheaper.

    Called twice to get this promotion and got denied twice. First guy told me it is because we have an employee discount on our account. The second told me it was because only certain accounts get the promotion. I'll try again tomorrow and if I get denied again, I'll ask for the supervisor since we've been with verizon for 7/8 years.

    It's been confirmed repeatedly (by myself included) that the employee discount can still be used on the primary line, the talk portion, just not the data portion... (they are not going to give you an additional 10-20% off of the $10 data cost.) Definitely ask for a supervisor.

    I called the toll free number from the email three times...denied. I was just about to give up. I called *611 and told the lady my friend got this promotion and I'd really like to have it. She put me on hold and came back and said no problem I can help you! Before I hung up she said she was from the loyalty department, so maybe you should try calling *611 and asking for that department. Keep trying, if you get the right person you can get it!

    I grabbed the plan 2 days ago, my sister grabbed the plan yesterday, my dad grabbed the plan today and my brother is looking to get it soon. All you need is one small bargaining chip and you're almost guaranteed to get it. My sister didn't even have to try, they gave it to her as soon as she asked.

    This is odd, everyone says their next bill was higher then it should be and my first bill after this discount applied gave me a monthly balance of only $47...

    I managed to pick this up in early december, but I didn't call the number on the flyer... instead, call the loyalty dep't 877-628-8922 ..I gave them a vague description of the plan and initially they couldn't find it, but then I pulled up my "email" (this thread) and read it to them and they gave it to me (and kept my corp. discount of 20% on main line).

    Like many others my first bill was messed up... a quick call back to the same number and they had it fixed up right... I just checked my new bill and the deal is there..

    Five lines of unlimited data for $207 (before taxes, etc). :icon_ banana:

    I got it... 2nd call. at first, he was saying it didn't look like it was E-mailed to me, so I said "how do you suppose I'm Reading this to you then (and started reading off the letter at the begining of this thread)". so he asked me if I could Fax it to him, I told him "I don't have a Fax machine, can I just forward this E-mail to your E-mail?" He said they can't recieve e-mails like that... So we talked for about 10 minutes, and I told him "I forwarded MY E-mail to my sister, She called in yesterday" He said "She couldn't have gotten it, it's ONLY Good for the # Listed on the Bottom of that E-mail" (I sortta fibbed, and said my # was on the bottom) "I told him, Wrong, they gave it to her on the spot yesterday". So he said he needs to talk to his Supervisor, and he called me back 10 minutes later...
    All Set up, Unlimited data, 4 lines. It's only savin me about $5 a month, but now I can add Smart Phones to all the Dumb Phone's lines...

    Be persistant, Be polite... 2nd call, I got it...

    Here it is 1/19/2011. If I can get this plan I should save only about $ 5, but I will have UNLIMITED data not the $15 (limited data). Should I go for the plan BEFORE I upgrade?
    What do you all think my chances are this late in the game?

    Why wouldn't you want to save money and have unlimited data use??? You will never know until you try....

    I think I will try. Hopefully can still get the 17% corp. discount. Will change plan and then upgrade from Dell. Keep your fingers crossed!
