I loaded CM 7.1 RC on to my OG. I noticed the nightly builds are up to 118. Are the nightlies a continuation of 7.1? Can I load the nightlies on top of 7.1 without wiping?

Love the ROM, smooth and stable.

    Thanks!

The nightlies will be incremental builds, or continuations, after the 7.1 rc1. They may contain fixes for bugs, features, etc. I do not know what the official recommendation is but I always wipe no matter what the situation. I feel no matter how small the changes are I always experience the best performance when starting from a clean slate.

I find just wiping system, cache, boot, and dalvik but leaving data in tact works really well. Then settings are saved as is info and you get to try the new stuff with less work. Which is always nice.

I tried this last night and it reverted me back to CM7.0 with a 118 build number.

Not sure what you mean. What did you try that you got reverted back to 7.0?

I had CM7.1 loaded....I then loaded Nightly 118. When I went to look what it said it the "about" screen, it showed CM7.0 with the date of 3 July...so I assume it reverted back to CM7.0.

I just looked back a post and realized I missed that you said the build number is still 118. You should be good then, it may just not say 7.1 anymore because the 7.1 I saw listed was an rc1 and they may have taken it back out of the rc stage just back to nightlies.
