The new Tegra 2 dual-core processor we were becoming accustomed to, just became last year’s technology and Nvidia is working on a new faster model for this year. Tegra 2.5 just recently made headlines as the next-in-line to the Tegra 2 processor which powers the much anticipated Motorola Xoom. The processor is rumored to have clock speeds around 1.2GHz per core, and also more powerful 3D capability included. This means a growth in speed, graphics performance, and other improvements.

This processor should be announced at MWC if rumors are true, which means our next line of tablets might well be running Nvida chips as well…

Anyone excited for this year’s MWC now?

****s at closing in on PC specs lol. Its no shock though. Odds are they have a 3rd one in the works as well.

Most of the time that is how it works. 1 being released, one closing in on release and one deep in development

I dont think most people have ANY idea that the Tegra 2 chip has been around for LOOOOONG time now. Its NOTHING new and its over a year old now even though there are no real tablets even out with it yet. The problem is its taking Google so long to finish Android 3.0. Major tablet Mfrs have had their Tegra 2 based tablets just sitting in storage for the past 6 months all because google has not finished yet. Oh course Nvidia has newer chips in mind, they have not been sitting around for the past year doing nothing...
