The Note 7 will be the first Samsung flagship device to feature USB Type-C. With that being said if you spent money on a Samsung Gear VR with your last Galaxy device you will have to spend money on another Gear VR with the Note 7, that is as long as they don't give them away with your pre-orders like they did with the Galaxy S7 Edge. Maybe they gave so many away to clear space for the new model.

Apparently the new Gear VR includes support for not only the Note 7, but also the Galaxy S6, S7, Note 4, and Note 5. That would mean that this unit has both USB Type C and micro USB support. The device is listed at 90Euros for some European retailers. That would be around $98 in the US. It is nice to know that you won't have to keep two units to support your new and older devices.
