Mods, is it okay if we discuss this new app so long as I dont provide a download link? I dont understand why the last thread was locked.

The new player is called rockplayer (very high quality playback)

its plays divx (avi), mp4, rmvb and flv (at least)

I get high frame rates, and it doesnt seem to be a drain on my battery so long as I dont have my phone overclocked.

enjoy

edit:
You must find the download yourself because this is a leaked private beta. And, a link cannot be posted on this forum

So, hypothetically speaking, if I were to load a movie on my droid, I need this DivX player to watch it?'

Been meaning to test that. Thanks for the tip

I've seen other players posted, haven't tried.

Is the main difference that this is a DivX player and so you don't need to convert the format after ripping?

Don't think they were DivX players. Didn't pay much attention, I think one posted a while back had the ripper and conversion process built in. Probably PC software.

Just tried it and seems to work great. The reason I dont have movies on my phone is because I was never wanting to convert them. Now its drag and drop.

me too, but now i cant wait to add my favorite shows.

the wuzenheimer (or whatever it was called) program I had it before wasnt worth using. Not only because of the chinese characters, but because of the lack of full screen playback
