    New Droid owner looking forward to customizing it might root either way loving android :blackdroid:

    root it. It gives you options and there are no negatives or know issues with rooting.

    I know it can void your warrenty but it sounds worth it does it effect updates etcetera

    True, but you can put it back if you want to. As far as updates go, the custom ROM's kind of block the stock updates because they already had the update months before and don't want users of their ROM's to lose what they have done. As far as the rest like apps, and functionality, nothing changes. You lose nothing and can update whatever you want at will.
