I woke this morning with new update on my Verizon Turbo.
Yes; it should help in security and in dialing

On the 26th of never.. Verizon droid branded phones are the red headed step children for updates

Going to help with drunk dialing?? WooHoo!!
p.s. my dialer is very slow...how can I fix it? Thank you
Yep, got it too. Did not see the official list of fixes, but it patched the Stagefrigth vulnerability. When the news came out I had downloaded the Stagefrigth Detector from Lookout. I run it again after the OTA and now it comes up negative.
My battery life has taken a significant hit since this update...
My battery also went south, barely lasting all day. Did a cache partition wipe a couple days ago, seemed to help. The whole 48 hour battery hype was just that.
I've also noticed that I have to manually force the wi-fi to connect to my home network. It used to automatically connect when in range. Not any more. This is a MAJOR PITA.
Do not mean to add insult to injury, but I have not experienced any adverse effect on battery life or connectivity in my Turbo. It is 6:30pm and I still am at 77% battery. Phone has been on since 6:45am this morning.
Is it possible that some of your applications are not getting along well with the OTA, for whatever reason?
I did perform a cache wipe after the OTA update, just in case.
