i've decided to halt GEM and join the CM team as a maintainer for Droid1. I hope to port for DX/D2, and add some work from GEM to CM.

    Can't wait this is awesomedancedroid

Cvpcs makes the best quality roms. Hopefully that will be carried onto cm. I am sure it will.

Side note we are suppose to be getting cm for the nook color. Can't wait. I wonder who is working on that?

Agreed!!!!! cvpcs is a stand up guy and I go back and forth between Sapphire and CM. I can't wait to see Sapphire goodness and stability merged into the D1 branch of CM.

Yup, great news. Given the age of our D1's, it is fantastic to see someone with his skillset jump on board. It will be kinda unique as he has his own rom development going on, but could be great if he can spread himself around.

It is my understanding that he is dropping development on the Gem series all together to put his efforts into Cyanogenmod.

CVPCS has put out some of the fastest and most stable ROMS out there. The GEMS series of ROMS(Sapphire in particular) have been my daily driver roms for quite a while. I have jumped around with Liquid, MIUI, CM, Chevy, Project Elite, and more that I can't think of. All of them had some issue that would send me back to Sapphire. Sapphire hardly ever gave me any problems, and if there were issues, CVPCS was all over it.

Can't wait to see what is in store for CM7.

    Stelv,

I did not see a formal announcement in the CVPCS rom section, so I guess you have better sources than here. But then I did not read all the threads:). In any case the Sapphire appears to be somewhat of a group effort, so perhaps the roms will continue? If not we better not link those folks here. Just yet;)

I believe he will be making an announcement in the next couple of days. He stated that the source code for gem will be available for fork up. Either way, he will be a great addition to CM as his Roms have always been of top quality.
