Ok its official! I have been lurking these boards for awhile now and took the plunge this evening. Just ordered my Moto Droid and now the wait begins.
    Come on UPS!

Have decided to go with root and looking seriously at the BB rom, any suggestions for a newbie fresh from my Blackberry Curve?

Welcome to the forum, dlesliepdx! We're glad that you've decided to quit lurking and join in the fun! So look around and make yourself at home. You'll find this to be a very friendly and helpful place to hang out. Unfortunately, you'll also discover that the only thing more addicting than this forum will be that new Droid of yours! Between the two, you'll be as obsessed as the rest of us in no time at all! Enjoy!

Have fun. I don't know how you and others can do that waiting thing. My hats off to you.

You what they say, good things come to those who wait.

Pulling the droid's battery has never solved anything for me. I hear that's a common thing on blackberries

Yup. Don't assume that Android works the way the BB did.

Give yourself a day or two with the phone as is just to get used to it before rooting.

    Thanks Speed,
I appreciate the advise. My plan is to give it a month or so before root. Get used to the phone and test its capabilities as compared to my Blackberry. I remember the switch from my dumb phone to my Blackberry, took a bit to get used to things.....
