    Hi everyone,

Picked up a Droid X today, it's my first "non-dumb" phone. I'm a software developer by trade (Java, some CPP, web technologies) and I'm embarrassingly late to the party. Anyway, looks like a great forum here, I hope to learn lots and eventually be able to contribute.

Haven't got to the FAQs yet, but are there any "must have" apps for this thing? Virus scanner, stuff like that?

    Thanks,

    Scott

:welcome: to the forum Scott! Umm you won't need any virus scanner crap. Some of my fav apps are:

launcherpro (it's a home replacement that is highly customizable)
widget locker (lock screen replacement that allows widgets and access to the notification bar without unlocking your phone)
Quickdesk (i add all my directdial shortcuts and again..you don't need to unlock to use)
folderorganizer (it has the options to customize any app icon and rename it)

Good to have another upcoming developer in our forum!! If you need any help feel free to ask me directly if you can't get the answer anywhere else. :D
