New Droid 2 Update also work for R2D2 Droid 2?

My wife has my previous Droid 2 and she got the update yesterday. After all was done, the interface was changed, the home screens were cooler looking and some of the icons were cooler. It just looks cooler. Now, I have the Droid 2 R2D2 version but I did not get the update. I really want it but was told by a friend that the R2D2 is somewhat different. I always thought the main setup was still a Droid 2 with a few R2D2 extras. Does anyone know if I will receive the update and If so, when and how? Thanks!!!

I don't know if the R2D2 stock will get it, but I've been using custom roms and SBFed back to the droid 2 stock and it updated just fine. You'll lose all the R2D2 stuff but most of that can be recovered (I still use the ringtones).
