UPDATE: 6/9/2010 - I have updated the link so that the kernels you download will not have the camera issue a few had initially ...

OK - first off, these will work with any ROM (EXCEPT froyo), any recovery. They are in the 'anyupate' format, which means in SPR after rebooting into recovery, you 'install update' (remember to allow). Not sure about CW as I've never used it.

These are TEST KERNELS. This means that they may not work for you. This means you may get stuck on the 'M', it may boot but then crash, or at may run for a while and then crash.

My basis for testing these kernels - whether RoboDefense can run in hyper mode for a few screens. Since this is on my phone, you also might run just fine - BUT it may not. These are the ragged edge of running on my setup.

If you get this problem - revert to your previous kernel. In addition, I would like the following notes:

    1) Which kernel were you running
    2) Which slot/speed were you running
    3) If you have cpu temps, those would help
    4) What were you doing, ie. playing a heavy game like RoboDefense?
    5) Is it repeatable?

About the only difference between my regular kernels is two things:

    1) TUN is compiled into the kernel; only CIFS remains as external
    2) If these kernels work for you, they SHOULD run cooler.

Since they should run cooler, I also would like stats you have on temps, both before and after.

Interesting, both kernels stuck and rebooted after the Droid Eye animation. I found this odd because I have seemingly been blessed with a solid phone, such that I have recently abandoned the practice of disabling Setcpu Enable On Boot feature on any new ROM up to 1.2 GHz. They simply always work. But because of the special nature of these kernels I DID disable this feature and set the max to 600 before installing.

So in short I got nowhere and have no data to provide. I'll be watching this thread though and am willing to try more.

Currently running NexBeast 1.1 with P3 1.2GHz kernel

trapster would be the ultimate test. Because trapster can heat up a phone.

I am sitting at 78F ambient room temp - when phone has rested a couple of minutes, it is ranging from 82-86F :)

Actually you want to see it heat up REAL quick - open up maps and pinch/zoom back and forth a few times - makes it jump!

    Started trapster at 7:36.
    I am overclocked at 1ghz
it took until 758 to reach 138, but was only their for a split second. It seems to hover around 132.
8:01 device still stable no reboots yet.
Ran trapster for 30 mins with out it hitting failsafe.
your previous kernel would hit fail safe at about 10 to 15 mins with trapster with my settings being at 600.
Closing trapster 136 is the max I reached. Though the droid can handle it, my hand couldn't

SO far the kernel is cool, no pun intended. Ima run it for 24hrs and record any f/cs if any here.

I run koush cm rom so I've been using bekits 7 slots 1 and 1.1 ghz kernels. I don't suppose you are going to post some info on these things? what changes were added? anything new compared to the other kernels? do these have compache compiled in? (I don't use but apparently it's better now i've heard?) it's in the cm rom kernels for droid and nexus.... things that would set this apart from say bekits?

Your kernels were my favorite 10 slot ftw way back =)
