I'm running a Droid 1 with CyanogenMod 7.0.3. I love it, but when's the new one coming out? Don't feel like going on google to look because I'm 14 and have better things to do:icon_ banana: , but I love hacking the hell out of my phone. Thanks,

Regarding his original question: IS there a new (Official) version coming out soon for the OG Droid?

Just nightly updates, I believe there's some open issues still that once fixed I'd expect an official update release.

To the OP, if you want to play with the nightlies - [NIGHTLY] [CM7] Discussion of Nightlies - CyanogenMod Forum

Just back up your current rom so you can revert back easily.

Because CM 7.1 is still in RC0 (nightlies only) an ETA doesn't really exist. CM 6.1 went through 5 RC stages, each about a week part, and because there is an unknown amount of time until RC1, conservative estimates would be from 5 to 8 weeks for the next "Stable" release.

You only choice to is to go with the nightlies or my build. They are pretty stable and I haven't had very many problems. Since you seem so into it the nightlies seem perfect for you.

CM7.1 should be out this weekend if everything goes good.

    What's the difference between 7.0 and 7.1? Android 2.3.4?

That's one thing, the 3G fix should be in there too... If you follow the nightlies changelog, there's a bunch of changes that have been added.

Lets just say to much to count. 3g fix, at least 10 new features, 2.3.4 and a TON more.

    Oh wow oh wow!
    This is exciting news! dancedroid

After weeks of wifi-only, I finally retired my old phone and activated the Droid.
Day 2 and my first real complaint is BT dialing, which I understand is fixed with the use of Vlingo or Choice Dialer. Would be nice if it gets fixed in CM, though.

It's a great time to have an OG Droid! Thanks to all the CM dev crew and contributors!

Alright Thanks bro. And I'm not ever gonna try nightlies. Don't wanna blow my Droid to hell. And I am thinking about starting off themes and Roms. Just need a bit of programming to learn, and I can learn that my freshman year, (just left 8th grade). Well, thanks for the info.

The BT dialing is being worked on by CVPCS.
Don't worry the nightlies won't blow up your phone. I would make a backup and flash one and see how you like it. If you don't like it then just restore your backup. There is nothing to be afraid of.

As noted, in recovery, do a back up of your current rom. If you install something you don't like, just restore your back up and your phone will back to however you had it. It should be part of your process whenever your installing new roms, themes, etc. It's your safety net. :)
