If I recall the widget doesn't change frequency

Correct. If you want to see what speed cpu is running at, open the app and hit refresh. The number in the top right corner will be the current speed.

By the way, you can raise that failsafe temp a lot higher than 39 celsius. I have mine set at 50.

That's good to know. I was running 45 because I wasn't sure so I wanted to be safe until I found out what a good limit was.
