Netflix on DX

I've been running into this issue as of late. I am watching instant stream Netflix on my Droid X which kills my battery. So I've begun leaving my phone plugged in while streaming. Now after about two episodes if Arrested Development, my phone doesn't acknowledge that it's plugged in anymore. I do have my phone rooted and overclocked. Anyone have any situations?
