My phone has had all sorts of issues recently, and verizon said they would ship out a replacement.. I am running BB 0.4 and imagine all I need to do for making a backup is go into recovery and make a backup (like usual) then when new phone comes, root it, go into recovery, and load backup??

Also, after I make the backup, and I want to unroot and restore the stock froyo, how do I do that? I just want to make sure verizon doesnt see my root.. thanks!

Yes, just make a nandroid backup. then when new phone comes use link 3 in my sig to root and then restore your backup

To unroot your old phone use link 2 in my sig. Option 1 then Option 5

I wonder what kind of "issues" you are having ?

Depending on your answer, restoring your old back-up on your replacement phone might be bringing your problems with you

I figured I would take and attach some pictures of the keypad beveling, as I havent seen any posts about this happening..

Some of the earlier D1s came this way. This past weekend I got to hold a D2 and noticed that the keys on the D2 are raised in this fashion as well. So be aware that this may happen again or you may receive a droid that has the raised keys. You may have to get used to them.

Hmmm called up verizon for the replacement and the lady wants the local store to look at the phone to determine if its warrenty related or insurance.. so now what should I do since I wont have both phones in front of me?? run the nandroid backup, send it to the computer, then unroot and bring back to stock??

So I brought the phone to the store (they were busy as hell) they told me to drop off the phone and come back in 45 mins.. so when I got back about an hour later, I asked about it, and it seemed like no one knew if it had even been looked at, and they asked around and said a replacement would be sent out.. so I imagine ill still get a D1.. when I brought it, I didnt include the memcard.. should I clear it out somehow?? or do I need it for the new phone for when the back up takes place??

I just wanna make sure the phone and card are clean when I send it in...

    Thanks everyone!!
