I got a replacement Droid from Verizon this week and I need to give them my old phone back. I rooted the phone and installed Bugless Beast. I need to get the phone back to stock and unrooted.

Where do I download the stock OS and how do I do this?

    Thanks!

I just did the exact same thing today! :)

The best and easiest way is to do an RSD Lite reimage. It will replace everything, erasing all data.

    ------------

Download and install RSD Lite 4.6.

    Download this 2.2.1 sbf file.

Put the phone into recovery by Holding UP on the dpad then pressing and holding the power button, hold BOTH for atleast 5 seconds and release. You should see a black screen with white text.

Connect the phone to your PC via USB.

Open RSD Lite, the phone should be listed. Click the '...' next to 'Filename' and point it to the .sbf file.

Highlight the phone from the list, click Start, and let it do its thing.

It should flash stock 2.2.1, then reboot automatically. Once its booted back to the OS it is safe to unplug.

    Done!

Eeek! Yes, RSD is Windows only.

Hmm.. Is there the OS/ROM I can download, put it on my phone when I connect it via usb, then reboot the phone and reinstall? Wouldn't that work?

Yeah. Or if you have rom manager premium you can download stock images there. This will not replace your recovery image, however.
