Weeks ago I dropped my phone in water. (Motorola 4 android) I immediately put it rice for several days and luckily it charged and booted up like normal. For about a week I thought I had escaped from instant phone death. However, one morning it wouldn't charge using the usb cord and wall socket so I connected it to our PC and saw that the green light at the top came on but the phone never charged. I desperately want to find a way to retrieve some pics that are near and dear to me so I went to every Verizon store (that's my carrier)in the surrounding 3 towns to find someone that could help. ( they are not on a memory card) No luck. everyone just keeps saying you can't remove a Droid 4 battery and the pics are lost. One of the salespeople even took it out after saying it couldn't be done and then said sorry and sent me on my way. Though I am not a tech or computer person at all I just keep thinking if I could find someone who knows the ins and outs of the phone rather than sales people who don't, then maybe someone could give me an answer/solution. Luckily, when I called Verizon the young lady on the other end was kind enough to direct me here. Here are my questions: -did the water actually damage the component that holds my pic data? -can a new battery be installed and allow me to retrieve the pics? (I have a 2nd spare Motorola 4 android phone with battery, but don't have a clue as to how to reinstall) -if not, I have heard of a factory cable for the phone. Would it help in my attempt to retrieve the pics? Thanks.
