Need some help please

After being droidless for 2 months I purchased a droid from ebay. I recieved it today and went to root it but it already had superuser ninja in the drawer. It is listed as "superuser v2.2.2". But I have no root access. Can someone please walk me through the steps to get this taken care of. I am not sure how to fix the problem to get root back.

Just flash the 2.1 with SPRecovery sbf and you can load a rooted rom.

no this for my D1.. I am running 2.2 frg22d. Not too sure what the previous owner did. I wanted to either fix the superuser permissions on my newly aquired droid or remove the version of superuser permissions that is on there and re-root the droid. The version that is on there now is v2.2.2
I am not enitrely tech savy at this so any step by steps wouls go along way...Thank you
